Data in the Shavian Set comes from the Shavian wiki, whose primary contributors have historically been Philip Newton and Thomas Thurman; from the public domain transliteration of Androcles and the Lion; from CMUDict; and from the Brown tagger. Further details are in the packaged documentation.

The wiki is based on MediaWiki. The rest of the site is implemented in Python; it is hosted by Red Stair, and powered by the Rackspace Cloud.
